BrigaNews July - Oct. 2008 |

 | A Note From Dave To say we have been busy would be like saying there have been a few "minor blips" in the stock market lately. Senior Volunteers and Brigadoon staff presented, and made applications, over the past 4 months to more than 30 organizations throughout the Maritimes. Our Board, volunteer base, and organizational structure have all grown and evolved in prepartion for breaking ground in 2009. Our MoUs are now in excess of 20 health, academic, community and business related partnerships and growing. So far so good - we remain very focused and hard at work.
Brigadoon was partially modelled after the Hole in the Wall Camps that Paul Newman started in 1988. The organization was a great inspiration to the Founding Board of Brigadoon in its leadership, innovation, boldness and service to children living with a chronic illness. Brigadoon is grateful to the example that Mr. Newman, through great determination and devotion, has left us.
Peace and Good Health to you,
Dave | | The Capital Campaign We are very pleased to announce that Brigadoon exceeded the Million Dollar Milestone by the end of July. We continue to present around the Maritimes and remain on target to break ground in 2009. Brigadoon is extremely grateful to all its volunteer leaders within the campaign for their commitment, dedication and generosity of time and talent.
If you, or your company, would be intrested to learn more about the campaign and investment benefits into Brigadoon, we would be pleased to speak with you. Please contact David McKeage at 902-422-3387 or david.mckeage@brigadoonvillage.org | | In Brief Thanks Anne! Anne McGuire retired from the Brigadoon Board of Directors this Summer after serving nearly 3 years as a member. Her efforts and service to Brigadoon with very key elements of development and leadership helped establish the project. Anne lead efforts in: acquiring the Brigadoon land (The NSPI lease), seed money, founding partnerships and Board recruitment. Anne was a member of the Nominations Committee of the Board. Anne also fielded many, many phone calls from the Brigadoon office and always had time and patience with Brigadoon staff. Without Anne's efforts and support - Brigadoon would not exist. Thanks Anne!
