BrigaNews- April 2010

April 6th, 2010

After 10 years of planning…we have finally arrived on the eve of building Brigadoon. We will be sending you an invitation to our Ground Breaking Event in late June. Highlights over the past 3 months include hiring an Administrative Coordinator and Construction Manager; the signing of an MoU with the Learning Disabilities Association of Nova Scotia; launch of an evolved Brigadoon website and an additional $100,000 to our capital campaign with numerous additional proposals made.

Our 2nd quarter will see the start of recruitment/advertisement for the Brigadoon Programs Director position (anticipated start date in October), enhanced community relations (both locally and regionally), ground breaking and commencement of construction, continued efforts to finalize a number of pending MoUs not to mention continued efforts on the capital campaign!

Thank you for the faith, patience, support, guidance and interest in the Brigadoon project. This is going to be a thrilling year…please know you are welcome to join the ride.

Peace and Good Health…and hold on…

Dave

Volunteers

We are always thankful for so many wonderful people offering to help out in many different ways- Brigadoon’s success depends on the hard work of our many volunteers. On April 28th, we are holding a volunteer orientation session at our office on Gottingen Street at 6:00pm. It will be a chance to meet the staff, learn more about potential volunteer opportunities, and fill out a volunteer registration form. Please RSVP to sally.gionet@brigadoonvillage.org if you plan to attend.

It is extremely exciting to realize that a camp for chronically ill children could become a reality in a few years. The members of the Rotary Club of New Minas Sunrise are very proud to be involved with Camp Brigadoon Society fundraising for this much needed project.
