Camp Treasure Chest Cancelled Due to Small COVID Outbreak Among Staff

Published

Due to a small COVID outbreak among our staff team, we have had to make the unfortunate decision to cancel Camp Treasure Chest – a week-long summer camp that was set to begin on Sunday, July 31, 2022.

Our staff team is tested regularly for COVID, and we were notified of the first positive test result on Wednesday, July 27. At that time, Camp Kedooopse and Camp BELIEVE were in session. Parents and Guardians of Kedooopse and BELIEVE campers were notified of the positive test result when they picked up their campers on Friday, July 29. Families were sent home with a rapid test and instructions on how and when to test. We know of one positive test result from the Kedooopse/BELIEVE camper group.

Over the long weekend, several additional staff members across our medical, program, and full-time teams tested positive, leading us first to delay the start of Camp Treasure Chest and then to make the tough decision to cancel it as of Monday, August 1.

Camper safety is always our number one priority. We also want to ensure our staff get the time they need to recover properly so that when they return, they can offer the best & safest possible camp experience to the kids we host.

We are sorry for the inconvenience this causes families of Camp Treasure Chest campers. We have been in touch with families to discuss options and refunds.
